白white蛇snake传biography
《白蛇传》The Story of White Snake is a legendary Chinese story from the Song Dynasty宋朝. The story tells of a white snake spirit that transformed herself into an enchanted lady named Bai Suzhen白素贞.
Bai came to the human world to give her appreciation and love to a scholar named Xu Xian许仙, who had saved her life in a previous incarnation. Bai finally found her beloved Xu Xian and married him. All was well until one day, the couple visited Jin Shan Temple.
The Great Master Fa Hai法海 in the temple could see that the Bai Suzhen was not a human being but a snake, and promptly warned Mr. Xu. Xu did not believe it at first, so Fa Hai gave him a magical wine that Xu could use to test whether Bai was a snake or not.
On the Day of the Dragon Boat Festival, Xu took advantage of the holiday to invite Bai to drink the special wine. This wine transformed Bai back into a snake. Xu was so horrified he dropped dead on the spot.
In order to save her husband’s life, Bai raced up to heaven and stole a magical medicine. Bai forced the magical herb down Xu’s throat and he recovered. But the Great Master Fa Hai was intent on separating Xu from Bai because a human coupled with a snake was an abomination. So he lured Xu to the Jin Shan Temple and put him under house arrest.
When Bai came to the Temple looking for her husband Fa Hai attacked her with his magic power. The two fought hard. To win the fight, Bai disobeyed the law of heaven and used a magic to flood the Jin Shan Temple金山寺.
After giving birth to a son, she was buried under the Leifeng Pagoda雷峰塔 in Hangzhou杭州.
