紫purple 气air 东east 来come
During the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, a man named Yin Xi尹喜 worked as the Head of the Hangu Pass函谷关.
One morning, as he admired the dawn, he noticed a huge purple cloud drifting towards the west. As the purple cloud drifted it became thicker and thicker. It made the mountain in the distance especially magnificent. He suddenly realized the cloud was a good omen - that there would be a wise man coming to the Hangu Pass. Sure enough, shortly after he saw this omen, the great scholar – Laozi老子 arrived.
Yin Xi invited Laozi to stay in the Hangu Pass. Laozi agreed. During his stay, Laozi wrote his great work - The Taodejing道德经 (The Classic of Virtue), a splendid piece of literature whose influence on Chinese philosophy and culture is immeasurable and continues to this day.
